Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob announced that Malaysia is now an open destination and can be visited by all, starting April 1st. No quarantine is needed for fully vaccinated travelers but a PCR test and RTK test is required (PCR before departure and RTK after arrival).

However, we are not the only ones opening our borders this year. A lot of South East Asian countries are opening their borders for travelers too, quarantine free.

Here are some of the destinations that we can now travel without quarantine.

Thailand

Meanwhile unvaccinated or non-fully vaccinated individuals can also travel to Thailand via the “Alternative Quarentine” plan given that they stay in quarantine for 7/10/14 days.

Other countries such as Laos and Vietnam are still in various stages of restricted travel.

With more countries settling to an endemic phase from the pandemic phase for Covid-19, a lot of the rules are loosened to get the economies back on track. However, we have to always be vigilant and take proper precautions.

Do practice good hygiene while you’re enjoying yourself abroad!
