Malaysian designer Miriam Omar was the only Southeast Asian designer selected for the #SheinForAll Spring/ Summer 2022 Virtual Runway Show.
Shein is a global fast-fashion company that has seen enormous growth in Malaysia. The online retailer is mostly popular for their affordable and cute clothing.
The show was broadcasted live via the Shein app and the brand’s official social media pages on Sunday, 20 February.
It features models from around the world wearing the season’s hottest styles and trends. True to its name, the runway concept celebrates body inclusivity and diversity.
According to The Vibes, Miriam showcased designs from her new collection titled ‘Walk in the Meadow.’
The collection by the Kuala Lumpur-based artist was inspired by romantic evening walks in a meadow filled with colourful wildflowers. Each design featured her signature floral prints.
The Walk in the Meadow collection features dresses, skirts, blouses, a cami crop top and even high-waisted pants with pockets.
This collaborative collection was possible thanks to Shein X, which offers emerging designers around the world the chance to showcase their creations to the global market.
Shein X works with young, independent designers and provides them with the resources to build their brand and bring their creative idea to life.
Miriam initially started out in the creative industry in marketing and business development before fully dedicating herself to art in 2018.
Since then, she has ventured into textile design, furniture design, paintings, illustrations and murals.
The vibrant Shein X Miriam Omar 12-piece collection can be found in the Shein app with prices ranging from RM34 to RM133.
