A 65-year-old Singaporean woman fell violently ill and was hospitalised after she took Ivermectin to protect herself from Covid-19 at the strong advice and influence of her Church friends.

The Straits Times reports Wong Lee Tak had taken four 3mg tablets of the parasitic drug in the course of two days before being admitted.

Her daughter Vanessa Koh told the daily paper that her mother had suffered a 39.3 deg C fever, inflammation on her joints and would “vomit violently” after eating food.

Vanessa has even taken to her Facebook to name and shame the two women responsible with photos of messages that claim the mRNA vaccines (e.g. Pfizer and Moderna) are against their religion and if they were allowed to take it, Jesus would reach out to them directly.

Convinced that Ivermectin would ‘purge out the vaccine and Covid-19’

Vanessa said it had taken months of heated persuasion to finally convince her mother to get vaccinated which her mother finally did on 23 September but opted for the Chinese Sinopharm vaccine, purportedly because it does not contain mRNA.

The family initially thought her adverse reaction to Ivermectin was due to the vaccine until Vanessa found messages on her mother’s phone which revealed that a church member had taken an order for purchases of 1,000 Ivermectin pills.

When Vanessa questioned her mother why she still went ahead and took Ivermectin, she was told her mother believed the vaccine was useless.

I know she just wants to say that vaccines are Satanic. She and her friends are not interested in science.

Trust the professionals

While the whole situation is not only wrong but illegal because Ivermectin is a controlled drug in Singapore, the message Vanessa wants to get out is to not listen to “severely unqualified” people, no matter how pious they are.

At the end of the day, Vanessa writes it wasn’t those two ladies she called out that were sitting outside the Emergency room waiting, or footing the bill – it was Vanessa herself, and she reminds people to not overlook the people in life that truly matter – family.

In case you didn’t know, Ivermectin is currently not recommended by any medical authority for treating Covid-19 as there are no credible studies that confirm its effectiveness and safety at this time.
