The finishing touches to Southeast Asia’s most anticipated theme park are being made and if all goes as planned with our National Recovery Plan (NRP), we could soon be soaring 6,000 feet above sea level starring in our own movie adventure.
We can almost smell the chill of the Highland air
Initially slated to open for mid-year 2021, the launch was deferred following the NRP, taking into consideration the Covid-19 situation and following the Government’s regulations and SOPs.

Fret not, because it WILL open eventually and you can expect world-first, never before seen rides that are unique to the Theme Park.
Let the adventures begin at these 9 ‘worlds’
1) Studio Plaza – this is where the journey will begin. An apt way to start your journey with elements inspired by the golden era of cinema.
2) Eagle Mountain – Why pay a few thousand ringgit to fly to California when you can experience the “heat” of the Californian desert in a forgotten ‘town’ where bikers and motorcycle enthusiasts hang out? You will also find one of the hero rides at Genting SkyWorlds there called Mad Ramp Peak – Full Throttle Racing, the world’s first dual-powered coaster bike ride.
3) Central Park – One of the largest ‘worlds’ at the Theme Park where you can visit the Natural History Museum or catch a show at the Lake of Dreams.
For thrill-seekers, choose to protect unruly exhibits in a 3D interactive ride at Night at the Museum: Midnight Mayhem, board a hybrid aerospace fighter for a heart-pounding flight through the galactic skies with ESD Global Defender or be part of an exhilarating space endeavour in a state-of-the-art dome screen with Independence Day: Defiance.
4) Rio – Spin into a whirlwind of fun on the Rio Carnaval Chaos! with twirling teacup rides or take off to view sights from 65-feet above in a hang glider for a bird’s eye view of Rio.
5) Ice Age – Join Sid and the gang through an exciting journey in Ice Age: Expedition Thin Ice, go on an Acorn Adventure roller coaster ride, enjoy a motion-filled log ride adventure at Sid’s Rock N Slide, and let the kids go wild at Mammoth Fun Zone.
6) Epic – Here you can go on an indoor boat ride called Epic Voyage to Moonhaven or climb aboard a flying hummingbird with Epic Hummingbird Flyers.
7) Robots Rivet Town – Hop aboard Bigweld’s Zeppelins for panoramic views of the town or opt for a capsule ride at the Rivet Town Roller.
8) Liberty Lane – Get your shopping fix here with unique stores and fill your tummies at themed food outlets. For thrills, the Invasion of the Planet of the Apes will sure get that pulse-pounding with its indoor 3D ride.
9) Andromeda Base – Enter a galactic world where you can take the Terraform Tower Challenge, test your agility at Boot Camp Training, or battle it out in a 360 multi-directional simulation with the Alpha Fighter Pilots ride.
Excited yet? We are!
We no longer have to cross the (currently closed) border at Universal Studios in Singapore because now we can boast about having themed ‘worlds’ by 20th Century Studios intellectual properties (IPs) like Ice Age, Rio, Epic, Robots, Night at the Museum, Independence Day, and Planet of the Apes.
