New Job? Claim A One Time RM1,000 Allowance From Government
This Mobility Allowance has been expanded to encourage Malaysians seek job opportunities in different locations.

From January 2021, Malaysians who get jobs over 100 kilometres away from their homes can claim a one-off allowance of RM1,000.
Those who get placements under 100 kilometres will receive a one-off RM500 cash aid.
While it may sound too good to be true, this is actually part of the Mobility Assistance initiative under the Short-term Economic Recovery Plan (PENJANA) announced back in June.
Initially, the Mobility Assistance programme provided lower amounts of cash aid to employees hired from 15 June 2020. However, Human Resources Minister Datuk Seri M. Saravanan explained that the programme has been expanded to encourage the youth, especially, to find employment opportunities in different locations.
In the current economic downturn, many rural companies go bankrupt even though in terms of operating costs are not very high. So employees need to be prepared to change their mindset by being willing to migrate.

How to claim
Employees and apprentices hired by employers under this incentive program who need to move over 100km from their current residence.
They are eligible to claim the RM1,000 cash aid through employers.
Employers can submit Mobility Assistance applications on behalf of eligible employees based on information such as electricity bill, Astro or other documents.
