Local self-service laundry chain DobiQueen is offering job opportunities to those affected by the MCO and additional cash aid to single mothers.
What you need to know: The company introduced the Queen of the House Scheme (Skim Ratu Rumah) to assist the less fortunate and jobless groups. They are offering job opportunities to work in their 67 stores located around the Ampang, Petaling Jaya, Subang Jaya, and Puchong areas. In addition to that, single mothers with children aged seven and below would be able to get a monthly cash contribution of RM50 through this scheme.
Why it matters: The MCO has left many vulnerable communities with no job and no income. Local businesses that take the effort to employ and help those in need are contributing stability to these families and can help the country recover faster. Women, especially single mothers, often have to resort to extreme measures as they have young children to care for as well.
Who said what: Founder Nini Tan encourages those living in areas near DobiQueen branches to apply to save on transportation costs and to minimize exposure to Covid-19.
