Malaysian creativity knows no bounds. Oddly enough, a petition on change.org has popped up to wish Health Director-General Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah a happy birthday. His 57th birthday falls on 21 April 2020.

So far, the petition has garnered over 28,000 signatures.

His outstanding attention to detail and work ethic is now globally recognised as Malaysia is seen as one of the more successful nations fighting against the tide of Covid19. The percentage of recoveries of patients who have succumbed to Covid19 is indeed impressive as it is one of the highest in the world.

While petitions on change.org are usually used to demand change, this one is a little special as it aims to show support and appreciation to our Ministry of Health, in particular Dr Noor Hisham, as well as all the medical front-liners who have been working around the clock since the pandemic started.

The petition also serves as a reminder for Malaysians to pledge to abide by the movement control order (MCO) in an effort to flatten the curve and make it easier on the frontliners.

This petition also is in support and to show appreciation to all front-liners in the battle against an unseen but dangerous enemy known as the Covid19.

It’s a pretty sweet sentiment, considering that many frontliners will have probably missed celebrating their birthdays due to working during the MCO.
