KFC x PMC collab launch; pieces sold out as we browsed!

It felt like a literal “take what you like right now because in 2 seconds they won’t have your size” at the KFC x PMC launch yesterday (Sept 5).

KFC Malaysia collaborated with Malaysian-born streetwear brand Pestle and Mortar Clothing to create exclusive limited edition streetwear pieces that paid homage to KFC’s 46 year history in Malaysia.

The “11 Finger Lickin’ Good Goods” collection comprises of 11 cool, contemporary, vintage inspired pieces, a nod to colonel Sander’s 11 secret herbs and spices, that highlighted KFC’s roots in Malaysia and celebrated Malaysia, its people, the culture and our relationship with the fried chicken franchise.

Pestle and Mortar was truly the perfect clothing brand to collab with KFC for this project as the home-grown company is known for incorporating current issues and local flavours in their designs.

One of the graphic designs that caught our eye put a quirky Malaysian spin on Colonel Sanders, dressing him in a kain pelikat and songkok, nicknaming him “Atuk”.

The 11 pieces included graphic and statement tees, a print bowling shirt, an absolutely stunning graphic bomber jacket (that was no longer available in our size!) and accessories like the reversible bucket hat (which just flew off the shelves), cute caps and tote bags.

All the pieces were available for purchase yesterday, both online at the Pestle and Mortar Clothing website and the pop-up store at Major Drop Sunway Pyramid

Purchased items were packed in an adorable snack plate takeaway box that made us feel hungry for some fried chicken.

If you’re keen on getting a couple of pieces for yourself, we encourage you to do it ASAP cause, like we said, they’re selling out fast, and the pop-up store will only be open for about a week until all the pieces are sold out.

The total proceeds from the launch yesterday went to a good cause. All of the profits made were channelled to Add Hope Malaysia, KFC’s corporate responsibility (CSR) initiative that aims to address and alleviate hunger.
