Things To Finally Do In KL With Everyone Gone For Holiday
It’s holiday season, guys. Time to jet off and escape this place!
But we know there’s a special subset of the population that have ZERO plans for the long holidays. *gasp*
No insta-worthy vacations, no serving lewks on social media – just enjoying the bliss of not dealing with work.
We feel you, fam. But now that KL is blessedly empty for the holiday, here are a couple of things you can FINALLY do:
1. GO IKEA
Go baby, go! This is a magical time when there’ll hardly be
anyone in town sprinting towards the Swedish furniture store.
Indulge in the fantasy of building your perfect little home. Prance through the model bedrooms, giggle at the hilarious-sounding names, and get some of those Swedish meatballs.
2. SHOP TILL YOU DROP
The holiday sales are still going strong and the malls are empty.
No need to shuffle through a crowded mall. Even better, no need to wrestle with people when buying stuff.
3. CATCH A MOVIE
Didn’t get a chance to catch the latest movie due to hours wasted stuck in traffic or stuck at work?
Well, you’re in luck now; there’s plenty of room for you to gape at the muscles of the latest superhero on the big screen as you shovel popcorn into your mouth.
4. PARTY LIKE AN ANIMAL
New Straits Times previously informed the nation that Zoo Negara is struggling to stay open with financial troubles and low visitor numbers.
Why not show some support and have a lovely outing with friends and family with penguins, hornbills and Giant Pandas Xing Xing and Liang Liang.
The zoo also just named their second baby panda, Yi Yi. So go visit and get your pictures of the little cutie!
5. WHIZZ THROUGH TOWN
Another perk of the long break is the spectacularly empty roads. Strap on your seat belt, shift into gear and go for a joyride through KL.

Jalan Kinabalu is particularly nice as you pass by some iconic buildings like the old KL railway station, Dataran Merdeka and Bank Negara.
