Long fingernails are fine if they are manicured and moisturised nicely. If not, keeping them natural works too.
However, Gigi Coffee’s latest promotional picture drew some criticism because some found the image of long fingernails and dry, peeling skin against the cup looked unappealing.

A Threads user mentioned the poster was seen at Gigi Coffee’s Pavilion Kuala Lumpur outlet. Saying that the image doesn’t represent the brand well, the user hoped the company will do better next time.
Other users agree that Gigi Coffee could have used better and stronger visuals to elevate their brand identity more.
Some netizens shared edited versions of the nails to better illustrate how the visual branding images could have been done better. No hate to the hand model though. It’s not you!

Gigi Coffee has responded
Gigi Coffee thanked the Threads user for giving an honest feedback and promised to do better. They have shared the feedback with the team in charge of the visuals and requested to reassess the concept. The coffee chain said it would eventually replace the current poster with a new one soon.
The Threads user welcomed Gigi Coffee’s approach and professionalism, but emphasised that she didn’t mean all staff should have manicured nails. She explained that her feedback referred to the marketing visuals as it represents the brand as a whole.
