Recently, stand-up comedian and YouTuber “Uncle Roger” had his social media accounts in China suspended, allegedly over some jokes he made during a show.
The comedian from Malaysia whose real name is Nigel Ng used the suspension as a promo tactic, releasing a short clip to promote his upcoming Haiyaa Special comedy show.
The Haiyaa Special is a recording of his stand-up tour and will be available online from June 4, for two weeks.
Lamenting about his suspension, “Uncle Roger” said he criticises everyone, regardless if they were from the BBC or the CCP, or Jamie Oliver.
“Because Uncle Roger always talked s*** about everybody. It don’t matter if you BBC, CCP or Jamie Oliver. “
Nigel’s “Uncle Roger” persona is known for his witty jokes and sarcastic comments which he does with a thick Chinese accent.
He is also famous for judging the cooking of fried rice by other people on social media.
