Well, believe it or not, one couple even made the news by involving the British band in their solemnization ceremony.

Groom, Faridz Kyab actually made Coldplay’s concert ticket as one of the things in his “mas kahwin” (dowry) for his bride, Anestasya Ayu Widyadana. The couple tied the knot last Sunday (21 May) in Bekasi, West Java and the solemnization was recorded by their family member, @rhfndtaaa who posted it on social media.

“My brother got married with a dowry of Coldplay tickets. Seems like Chris Martin supports the marriage,” shared @rhfndtaaa on Twitter.

In the solemnization ceremony, the bride’s father gave his daughter away with a dowry of 21 grams of gold, a set of prayer clothes and … well, Coldplay tickets. That’s quite a unique dowry.

Usually, people would pay the mas kahwin in the form of money, gold or jewellery, which are things that are deemed valuable by the bride. But this bride is unique, that’s for sure!

He didn’t plan it at first

According to an Indonesian news portal, Kompass, Anestasya revealed that she didn’t expect to get the tickets from him as dowry.

She did say that she wished to go to the concert as it was her dream to see them perform live. Tempted to fulfil the wishes of his soon-to-be wife, Faridz tried his best to get tickets to Coldplay’s Music Of The Spheres World Tour at Jakarta’s Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium on 15 November.

He didn’t expect to successfully secure them on the day of the BCA presale but he managed to eventually buy two Category 3 tickets which cost 3,250,000 Rp each, approximately equivalent to RM998 per ticket.

Since it was a full-fledged online war to get the tickets, his parents gave the idea of turning the valuable tickets into Anestasya’s dowry, knowing how their daughter-in-law would love it.

Faridz then decided to do so as the tickets were something valuable to both of them.

Well, now isn’t that romantic? Maybe you guys can give this a try too in the future. But not with Coldplay tickets though, unfortunately. They are sold out in both Malaysia and Indonesia! Let’s hope Chris Martin and his members can surprise us all with a second-day concert in both countries.
