A video of a soldier cuddling his dog on a staircase right after the National Day celebration has gone viral. The loving encounter between those two touched many hearts.

The soldier known as Micro Junior online said that the dog, which is named Loki, has served with him for years.

They would be spending their last National Day together because they would be parting ways soon when he leaves the force.

The Sarawakian native is resigning since his service is coming to an end, and will miss spending time with Loki dearly.

This is our last independence celebration because we will be parting soon. We have faced the minefields of life together over the years and he is my true friend.

Micro Junior wrote in the Facebook comments.

The touching moment also caught the attention of Defence Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein, who thanked both for their service and dedication.

He also wished both of them the best in their future.

Was touched when I saw the photos. The Micro Junior-Loki partnership will be remembered and appreciated forever. Thank you Micro Junior for your service and dedication. Hopefully, Loki will continue to excel with its new master.
