It’s already a norm for Malaysians to meet people who confuse Malaysia with Singapore, Thailand and many other Asian countries. Some people don’t even know where Malaysia is but they know where Thailand and Singapore are.

However, the latest Facebook post caption by National Geographic UK takes the cake.

In the post, the caption read, “From the Archive: A family from India walks through the Gardens by the Bay in Singapore, Malaysia.”

Reactions from netizens were mixed. Some quickly corrected the post by posting up different pictures of the Kuala Lumpur skyline.

Others found the humour in it all with one netizen even welcoming Singapore back to the Peninsular.

However, another person jokingly corrected everyone and explained that Singapore is actually another Johor district so it should be written as “Singapore, Johor.”

A few netizens posted edited photos of various foreign landmarks and claimed them as Malaysia’s own such as claiming London’s Tower Bridge is the Penang bridge.

Truth be told, the people at National Geographic UK should retake their geography lessons!
