A Facebook page called Visit Malaysia 2022 Goals has surfaced, quickly garnering attention with some of their post promoting Malaysian Tourism.
At first glance, it looks like an impressive photo of a skyscraper, claiming to be “Merdeka 118”, the tallest building in Southeast Asia.
However, a closer look will show that the entire photo is just a big joke.
Visit Malaysia 2022 Goals is a satire/joke page that make it a point to mislabel iconic sites for a laugh.
Why did it start?
It is likely that the Facebook page popped up in response to a Facebook post from Travel Scotland Goals that went viral. They used a picture of Changi Airport’s iconic Jewel Changi indoor fountain but credited the place to ‘Almondvale Shopping Centre, Livingston’.
Naturally, the only logical response was to respond in kind with memes of our own.

Of course, the admins of the Visit Scotland page found the humour in the situation as well.

Now this is the kind of international diplomacy we like to see!
