Videos showing a large crowd that gathered for a concert at the Bulatan Sultan Azlan Shah park in Ipoh, Perak is raising public concern.

Clips shared online show participants dancing, or rather, dancerciszing to live music performances together at night.

From the videos, it can be seen that Covid SOPs like physical distancing and the mandatory requirement of wearing face masks while out in crowds were seriously lax.

A statement by the Perak police explained that the organizers didn’t get permission from the authorities to host the event and that both the organizer and participants had violated Covid SOPs.

Investigations are being conducted under Section 22(b) of the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Act 1988 (Act 342) and Section 269 of the Penal Code for offences relating to creating a public nuisance.
