Some dogs are known to be afraid of thunder. While dogs with homes get to find comfort from their owners, stray dogs aren’t that fortunate and are exposed to the elements.

When a loud thunder scared a stray dog, it ran into an undisclosed 99 Speedmart store to hide. Employees at the convenience store let the same dog find refuge in the shop whenever it got scared by the thunder.

A customer in the shop spotted the scared dog resting and hiding at the bottom shelf and shared the picture online. Seeing the picture of the dog finding a safe spot warmed a lot of hearts.

The post that was initially made on Facebook went viral on Twitter with 26.2k likes and 12.7k retweets.

Netizens praised the employees for letting a few stray animals seek shelter in the shops. According to some customers, stray cats sometimes seek shelter in other Speedmarts too.

Netizens advised others to show care to stray pets because they don’t have access to safe shelter and food.

Despite the kind gesture, some netizens weren’t comfortable with stray animals being in a shop selling food supplies.

The worries were mostly about cleanliness and allergies. Some people may not be comfortable with a dog in the vicinity due to religious beliefs too.

Fortunately, the dog was smart enough to sleep in the pet food section.

In light of this matter, the other netizens urged people not to disclose the location of the said 99 Speedmart shop that sheltered the stray dog.

This is to prevent the employees from getting lectured by conservative customers.

Hopefully, the 99 Speedmart employees will not get into trouble for doing a kind deed.
