Pahang Resort Got Bashed By SPM Candidates For “Ruining” Exams
Many misheard the name of the resort and resorted to leaving a bad review for Salang Sayang Resort.

If any of you noticed, 2021 SPM candidates are doing their Language Speaking and Listening Test this month. That includes the Bahasa Melayu Listening Test done on 21 February 2022.
In the test, a resort called Salang Sayang, which exists in real life near Pulau Tioman, Pahang was mentioned and the SPM candidates were bewildered by the name.
Mishearing the name, some of the candidates didn’t expect that the resort would exist and proceeded to vent out their frustrations to the Google Review page of the resort.
Some of them even gave a 1/5 rating to the resort even though they have never been there. Some cursed angrily and demand changing the name of their resort.
All the frustration was rooted in the cause of them potentially losing one mark because of the resort name in the listening test.
As if Google Review wasn’t enough, they targeted the resort’s IG page too.
This Is Unethical
A lot of people condemn the actions of those SPM candidates saying that they’re not thinking straight and some take their jokes too far. Ranting on social media is one case but ranting in review spaces is another. Their real ratings could drop and it’s not even their fault.
However, Salang Sayang Resort Is Admirably Playing It Cool
Due to the havoc on Twitter based on the Bahasa Melayu Listening Test from SPM 2021 students, Salang Sayang Resort became the unexpected attention of many. Call it free publicity if you will.
Knowing the background of all the rants and bad reviews that are coming to them, the resort’s reacted in a very calm and collected manner. They were even seen calming the students down and wishing them all the best in their Insta Story. They’re literally playing it cool. They joked that maybe the one who invented the questions went there before and couldn’t stop thinking about their place.
After the ordeal, some of the netizens felt bad and helped to give 5/5 ratings to the resort just to counter the bad ones. Some of them who were also from the SPM 04 batch apologised publicly saying that they are embarrassed by their batchmate’s ridiculous actions and to not judge them all youngsters like that.
