As if our nation’s favourite sport can’t get any cooler, apparently you can now play badminton in the dark!

For people who find their usual badminton sessions starting to get a little stale, the obvious answer is to host it in the dark as an extra challenge.

Shuttle In The Dark is hosted by Fitness Center in KLCC, newly opened just this year.

They boast a special BWF Tournament Grade Floor Mat from the Macao Open, together with special glow-in-the-dark equipment like shuttlecocks and rackets. Players will also get glowing wristbands and optional glowing clothing to make them easier to spot in the dark.

Shuttle In The Dark is quick to reassure netizens of the inadequate lighting, noting that there shouldn’t be any difficulties in seeing your friends even in the dark.

However, other netizens were less confident in their badminton skills, claiming that they already miss the shuttlecock in brightly-lit badminton courts, let alone one that’s pitch black.

Still, it seems like we’ll still be left in the dark over the experience as a single hour at Shuttle In The Dark will cost you RM180. However, if you’re up for a fun night out at what appears to be a badminton court crossed with a club, then why not?
