Malaysians shared a moment to romanticize about happily ‘never’ after when a self-taught pianist who calls himself AmirullahMz, took over the upright piano that’s set up in the middle of the BookXcess bookstore at the MyTOWN Shopping Centre in Cheras, Kuala Lumpur over the long Maulidur Rasul weekend.

Playing a cover of Olivia Rodrigo’s “happier” on the public instrument, the musician with his melodic fingers managed to bemuse local shoppers who were browsing through the bookstore’s library.

AmirullahMz’s talents also captured the attention of music lovers online when he posted a video of himself playing the melancholic tune.

“I was so nervous, so I messed up a lot,” wrote the humble pianist in the captions as hundreds, maybe thousands of commenters came to show him support.

You can say that people were swept off their feet and swayed by waves of feels with the musician’s moving performance.

While others implied the brilliant idea for more public instruments to be placed around town so we can uncover more Malaysian musical talents.

However, this isn’t the first time that AmirullahMz had managed to draw an audience.

Last year, passersby managed to capture the pianist performing live on another public piano at the International Youth Centre (IYC) in Cheras while the musician had some free time after making a stop as an e-delivery rider.
