Malaysians were furiously concerned about the state of hygiene of Klang Valley’s LRT trains after footage leaked online of how one was supposedly “cleaned”.

In a 7-second clip, a couple of female janitors were seen carelessly wiping down the train’s handrails with a cloth.

Netizens were obviously unimpressed and worried by the duo’s lack of enthusiasm when sanitizing the train’s high-touch surfaces, considering how we’re still in the midst of a deadly pandemic.

Many had asked RapidKL, the LRT line’s main operators, about what was going on and wanted immediate action to be taken towards the cleaning crew.

Some commenters even accused people of being entitled to place blame on the cleaners’ supposedly poor work ethic.

Others had reminded fellow commuters to try and avoid touching public surfaces and sanitize themselves as they go.

In response, RapidKL issued an apology for the hasty and dissatisfactory manner that their trains were cleaned and said that they would reprimand the cleaning vendor responsible for the act.

The company promises to do a better job at keeping its fleet of public transportation, which includes both trains and buses, clean and hygienic.

They also provided a clip of how their vehicles are supposed to be cleaned by a proper team of commendable professionals.
