So we all know that the latest set of Covid-19 SOPs requires denizens to be fully vaccinated to be allowed into most public premises. However, it seems that there are still those who choose to selfishly violate this simple public health guideline.
Netizens were furious over a video that allegedly showed an individual who refused to declare his vaccination status to security at a local shopping mall in the Klang Valley.
The 14-seconds long clip had recorded a man arguing with the mall’s security guard before supposedly barging into the complex.
“Have you been vaccinated? Are you fully vaccinated?” argued the man repeatedly as he faced up to a guard who inquired about his vaccination status.
The man was later seen walking into the mall, appearing to try and evade another security guard further along the entrance before the video cuts away.
It’s believed that the incident was captured at Ikea Cheras in Kuala Lumpur.
A customer harassing @IKEA Malaysia security guard yesterday. He didn’t want to show his vaccination status and incessantly asked if the guard is fully vaccinated. And then he walked in just like that… So rude. @pedoqpop pic.twitter.com/mU2zXmWDPj

Comments online show that Malaysians were distraught by the man’s general disregard for health protocols and for being rude to the security guards.
One can’t do this even if you’re not vaccinated at all. U can’t vent your displeasure to a guard who’s only doing his job in keeping everybody safe & deterring a new cluster from mushrooming. A lack of regard for others is bad enough, please don’t become a bully as well.

Some diligent ‘cyber detectives’ even took it upon themselves to break down and analyse the video further to build up a case against the alleged rulebreaker.
Taking a peek at the man’s phone, netizens argue that the individual’s MySejahtera mobile application had shown that he was either not vaccinated or have not been fully vaccinated.

See, if you’ve been fully vaccinated, your status would show up as a yellow tab on the app, mirroring your official Covid-19 vaccination certificate.

With their evidence in hand, many wanted the authorities to quickly identify and locate the individual to get what’s coming for him.
Others had also argued that the man was somehow in the right for enquiring from the security guard if he had been fully vaccinated – pointing to what they call a loophole in government SOP and enforcement.
This is the problem with Malaysians. Always try hard to find loop holes in rules just to justify themselves. This is why Malaysians can’t have nice things. Keep on exploiting the situation when the authority being nice / lenient.

However, some did correctly infer that official government SOPs dictated in the National Covid-19 Recovery Plan (PPN) did allow for essential service sectors to operate without needing every single one of their employees to be fully vaccinated.
Hahahaha tulah orang kata bodoh, company kalau nak bukak kena senaraikan berapa pekerja yang dah divaksin, kena ikut peratus yang dah ditetapkan. Yang kau gi tanya guard tu kenapa bodoh even dia tak cukup 2 dose still boleh kerja sebab dah ada surat
