While most of the country’s school students have turned to online solutions to continue learning, the recurring problem is that not every student has the ease of reliable internet access.

A school in Kedah took that issue seriously, and came up with the ingenious idea to create physical DropBoxes for each students to access and submit their homework.

Much like a “drop-off/pick-up” point for food deliveries, the DropBoxes still allow students to complete their schooling with the use of physical worksheets and exercise books while maintaining physical distancing.

SK Taman Ria noted that many of their students struggled to keep up with online classes because they did not have reliable access to internet data or devices. Hence, this physical option would allow students to still complete their schooling and studies. Parents can drop off completed worksheets and pick up new ones.

Netizens were quick to commend the ingenious solution, tailored to the specific needs of the community.

SK Taman Ria in Sungai Petani, Kedah was not the only school to implement this idea. In fact, a good number of schools have already been using this method to allow students to stay updated with their homework.

SK Taman Ria is part of the PINTAR PEMIMPIN Online Leadership Program, a development program for school leaders from all over Malaysia to build their skills and expertise to ensure students’ learning continues during the pandemic.

This program has helped developed similar solutions for other schools around the country as well.
