Malaysian netizens are calling a few traffic policemen and a motorcyclist heroes for saving an injured monkey on the highway.

A recording of the incident was shared on the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) Facebook page showing the macaque looking weak, confused, and bleeding.

In the video, which is almost two minutes long, it appears that the policemen stopped their patrol cars in the middle of the highway and held traffic to protect the animal.

The cops tried several times to pick up the scared macaque, which, despite its condition refused to allow the policemen to hold it.

A few seconds later, a motorcyclist can be seen stopping to help. Protected by his motorcycle gloves and jacket, the motorcyclist catches the animal before crossing the highway to release it in the woods nearby.

Their brave and kind actions were praised by Malaysians online, who thanked the group for their effort.
