With all the health standard operating procedures (SOP) currently in place for weddings, a Johor couple had the ingenuous solution to hold a one-minute drive-through reception during the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO).

Agus Santoso Sidik and Norazura Mohd Ali’s wedding reception last Saturday was social distancing genius – guests had their temperatures screened and details noted down before greeting the newlyweds for one minute and receiving food packets all while seated in their car.

To ensure no physical touching, a small box was provided for guests to drop off their gifts and ang paus.

A friend of the couple, Farreed Sahar who shared the incredible wedding pictures said that this was the first-ever drive-through wedding concept in Malaysia.

He told Malay Mail that he had pitched this idea to other couples, but only Norazura and Agus were the ones who took up the creative suggestion.

And it looked like a blast!

Initially, wedding ceremonies were limited to only 20 individuals during the early days of the RMCO.

However, the rules have been relaxed from 1st July onwards where up to 250 guests are allowed for a maximum 5-hour reception.
