The Johor-based Wan’s creations have been spreading across the internet as food-loving Malaysians drool over her deliciously creative designs which include packaging from Hup Seng Cream Crackers, Gardenia and Massimo bread wrappers.

A compilation of her Hup Seng bag designs shared on her Wan’s Creations Facebook page on Tuesday, 16th June has already garnered over 4,000 shares and 2,000 comments at the time of writing.

The foodie fashion appears to be part of the Plastic Reborn Project in which she takes familiar plastic packaging bags that most would consider trash and transforms it into a new treasure with a little bit of creativity, time and skill.

Using the packaging that we’re familiar with, adding a bit of thought, creativity, time, and skills, we can prolong its ‘life line’. Recreating what we regard as trash into a new items; transforming keepsakes into belongings we can carry around, is how we can give new life to old items and help the environment.

Born into a family in the textile industry, the Batu Pahat lass revealed that she had always been into creative design and fashion and learned how to sew as a child.

She told Malay Mail that she graduated from Singapore’s Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts in fashion design and started her business in 2014.

In an interview with Johor Foodie, the creative designer said that she has been experimenting with creating items using plastic packaging for a while now, and even taught children how to upcycle their favourite food packages into new designs.

Suffice to say, Wan’s environmentally and appetite friendly designs has us hungry for more!
