Malaysians are always doing either one of these two things; getting into online arguments with Singaporeans over who has the best food, or getting into #doneclaim battles with Indonesia over everything and anything.
And every time we win, we become more united in the feeling of sweet sweet victory which is felt among all Malaysians.
Hence, when Malaysians spotted that we managed to beat Indonesia AND Singapore in the Men’s FIFA/Coca Cola World Ranking, obviously we had to highlight it la.

Reddit user @tlst9999 recently posted the update on r/Malaysia. Initially, looking at the post you wouldn’t understand why it’s worth sharing.
Malaysia ranked pretty low at 159th place out of 211 countries.
But the most important factor to highlight here is that Malaysia beat both Indonesia and Singapore for that placement.
Netizens commenting on the post felt the same way too…
One Redditor commented that the Malaysian women’s team actually managed to rank higher than the men’s team at 90th place. But another Redditor pointed out that the women team’s victory isn’t as sweet as this one.
