Just last week, there was a massive fire at the TNB substation in MidValley City which led to loss of power in the area and some parts of Desa Pantai.

Today, road users along the Federal Highway are sharing videos of a fire at the old Employees Provident Fund (EPF) building on Jalan Gasing, not far from the incident of last week’s fire.

It is believed that the EPF building is vacant. It was permanently closed in 2019 after a fire partially destroyed the building in 2018.

According to the Selangor Fire and Rescue Department, they received a call about the fire at 10.39am.

Firefighters were deployed from several stations including Penchala, Puchong, Pantai Dalam and Hang Tuah.

The fire happened on the fourth and fifth floor of the building and no victims were involved.

In the most recent update concerning the building, the Edge Markets reported on 15 May that Pacific Senior Living Sdn Bhd has signed a 30-year lease with the EPF to turn the property into a state-of-the-art senior living facility.
