The White Flag Movement Is Gaining Momentum, Partially Because Of These People
Malaysian businesses and celebrities have stepped up to fuel the White Flag movement into action.

As well-intentioned as the White Flag initiative is, not everyone is courageous enough to wave the white flag for help.
It is one thing for politicians to stand behind something the Rakyat started as it then makes the issue political, but when businesses and celebrities use their resources and influence to good use, it makes it easier for those in dire straits to receive what they need, with or without a flag.

Taking #KitaJagaKita to the next level
Since the initiative started two days ago, businesses, celebrities like Harith Iskandar, and well-known humanitarians like Syed Azmi are adding fuel to the initiative.
To date, the businesses that we know of participating in this initiative include:
99 Speedmart
On a Facebook post yesterday (30 June), the Malaysian chain of mini-supermarkets expressed their support for the White Flag movement.
They called on people who spot someone in their neighbourhood waving the white flag to WhatsApp or send a private message (PM) to them with that person’s address and picture of the home with the white flag showing.
Their campaign is only available for two weeks starting from today (1 July) until 14 July and 1,000 packages will be prepared each day and sent within 24 hours to homes near 99 Speedmart outlets.
KH20 Restaurants in Klang Valley
The KH20 franchises in Klang Valley have also decided to raise funds internally to help families affected by MCO.
In a circulated WhatsApp message, they ask you to contact them as soon as possible if you or your friends see a family in need. The company will then arrange a delivery person to deliver the materials to the relevant location.
No white flag proof is needed and all they need is a name, telephone number and address in the Klang Valley. Although KH20 is a chain of Chinese food, they highlighted that each family will get the following, regardless of race.

- 1kg sugar-1 pack
- 1kg oil -1 pack
- Milo 400g-1 pack
- Bee Hoon -1 pack
- 1kg flour -1 package
- Instant noodles-1 bundle
- Biscuits-1 pack

- Mask-1 pack
- Face shield – 2 pcs

The Hope Branch
Popular comedian Harith Iskander along with his wife Dr Jesamine Lim started The Hope Branch on 23 March last year as an initiative to quickly and effectively raise funds to assist those affected by Covid-19.
Currently, they are raising funds intending to distribute 18,000 meals to homeless, single parents, OKU, B40 and marginalised communities in Malaysia.
Together with DBKL, they will distribute at various community centres, public low-cost housing (PPR), underprivileged homes and more.
The Hope Branch also has an “MCO 3.0 Groceries Care Pack Distribution” set up where you can donate to help in their monthly operations to provide care and support vulnerable families in Johor, Penang, Kelantan, Selangor, and Kuala Lumpur.

Syed Azmi
Everyone’s favourite humanitarian Syed Azmi has also started a fundraiser to support those in need, specifically refugees, migrant workers, the trans community, people living with HIV and orphaned kids.
He has currently raised RM20,000 which he says can help 200 families.
Along with his goodwill initiatives for overlooked communities, he is also promoting various food banks around the country such as this one in Ipoh.
Starting tomorrow 2 July, Kedai Motosikal Sri Buntong in Ipoh will have a food bank running. They already have people contributing essentials but welcome more donations by either dropping by their place here or contacting them at 0103889980.
