Selangor Says Used 80% Of Vaccines, Refuting KJ’s Claim Of Under Utilization

Selangor Health, Welfare, Women Empowerment and Family executive councillor Dr Siti Mariah Mahmud today refuted claims that the state was under-utilising the vaccines they have received.
National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme Coordinating Minister Khairy Jamaluddin earlier today said Selangor only used 76% of 1.36 million doses of vaccines given.
Dr Siti said in the statement that the State Government has taken note of the concerns raised surrounding the issue of vaccine supply in Selangor.
She went on to say, “According to records, Selangor State Health Department (JKNS) received 1,189,350 doses as of 27 June 2021, with 954,051 doses distributed. Therefore, the remaining balance of around 20% is 235,277 doses. This supply is only expected to last another two days, if vaccination is carried out at vaccination centers maximum capacity.”
Dr Siti said that JKNS will be receiving an additional 60,000 doses, and expressed the State Government’s gratitude.
With 73 vaccination centers, she says it is important to note that the capacity of daily vaccination at centers is 87,616. However with the current supply, the daily rate is at only 53,037.
“Insya-Allah, after joining hands with the Vaksin Selangor Program, which will be announced by the MB, we will be able to achieve the CITF National target as mentioned by the PICK Coordinating Minister with 135,000 and 165,000 daily doses in July and August respectively,” said Dr Siti.
She ended the statement saying the issue faced by the state of Selangor is a lack of vaccine supply, and not a lack of capacity or vaccination centers.
