Malaysia’s Infectivity Rate Below 1.0 For Two Days In A Row, Says Health DG

However, there are still many states which are above the national average.

Malaysia’s Covid-19 infectivity rate (RT) is at 0.97 as of 7 June, according to Director-General Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.

That makes yesterday the second day in a row that the rate recorded is below the 1.0 R value, with the country seeing a steady decline from 29 May 2021 when the rate was 1.16.

Some states have also seen improvements as they recorded below 1.0:

  • Penang (0.98)
  • Kelantan (0.97)
  • Putrajaya (0.93)
  • Kedah (0.95)
  • Terengganu (0.96)
  • Perlis (0.92)

However, there are still many states which are above the 1.0 RT:

  • Selangor (1.03)
  • Sabah (1.16)
  • Johor (1.01)
  • Melaka (1.03)
  • Kuala Lumpur (1.04)
  • Labuan (1.26)
  • Negeri Sembilan (1.17)
  • Perak (1.01)
  • Sarawak (1.04)
