Over A Million Malaysians Have Received Both Covid-19 Vaccine Doses

1,771, 810 people have received the first dose taking vaccine recipients in the country to 2,786,152.

Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Adham Baba said in a tweet yesterday (29 May) that 1,014,342 people in Malaysia has completed both Covid-19 vaccine doses.

The state with the highest number of recipients who have completed the two doses is Selangor with 138,063 people, followed by Sarawak (96,450), Kuala Lumpur (94,397), and Johor (88,240).

Malaysia’s vaccine registrations surpass 11 million

As of Friday (29 May) 48,60% or 11,788,915 individuals have registered to receive vaccine shots, with Selangor continuing to record the highest number of registrations at 3,159,392. But, it only accounts for 65.22% of the population of Selangor that is eligible for the vaccination.

Putrajaya recorded the highest compliance with 66,337 (100%) registrations.

Registrations will continue in phases until February 2022

The National COVID-19 Immunisation Programme, has three phases. The first involved frontliners and healthcare workers and was conducted between February and April this year.

The second phase, which starred in April involves 9.4 million senior citizens, at-risk individuals, and person with disabilities and is expected to end in August.

The third phase has already begun and is expected to end in February 2022. This phase involves those above 18 years old.
