7,289 New Cases: Another Record Just As Health DG Says ‘Brace For The Worst’
He notes that the trend of large jumps in cases could trigger a vertical surge.

Today, 25 May 2021, we broke yet another record for most new Covid-19 cases in a day, with 7,289 cases reported.
The previous record was broken on 20th May 2021, at 6,806 new cases in a day.

Of the 7,289 cases today, Selangor recorded the highest number (2,642), followed by Kuala Lumpur (604), Johor (664), Sarawak (513), and Kelantan (425).
Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah has urged the public to prepare for the worst, as Malaysia is facing an uptick in Covid-19 cases in an exponential fashion.
He notes that the trend of large jumps in cases could trigger a vertical surge.

Our hospitals are already reaching maximum capacity, and the large increase of Covid-19 patients is threatening to overwhelm the whole system.
Dr Noor Hisham urges all those able to work from home to do so and limit going out.
