Another alarming milestone was crossed today as Malaysia reports 6,806 new cases of Covid-19 detected in the country.
This is the second record-breaking day in a row after yesterday’s 6,075 new cases exceeded the previous record set on January 30 when 5,728 new cases were recorded.
The state with the highest number of cases was Selangor which had 2,277 new cases, followed by Kuala Lumpur (655), Johor (615), Sarawak (608), Kelantan (426), and Kedah (417).
The sudden increase in numbers over the past two days is drastic considering Malaysia was hovering around 4,500 new cases a day all month.
