It appears that the folks in Klang Valley are excited to receive their Covid-19 AstraZeneca (AZ) vaccines today (5 May).
Thousands of Selangor and Kuala Lumpur residents who volunteered to be inoculated early were spotted lining up for their first dose of vaccine injections at special vaccination centres (PPV) at the Putra World Trade Center (PWTC), University Malaya (UM) and Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM).
Thrilled by the experience, many began sharing their first-hand accounts of the vaccination process at their respective PPVs and how smooth things had gone for them.
Social media became filled with images and videos of people anxiously waiting to be vaccinated as well as their happy faces after being jabbed under the hashtag #CucukMYAZ.

1. Arrived at the PPV and was given two copies of the consent form. It’s double sided with one side English and the other in Malay.

Many also share tips for other volunteers to follow like; remembering to bring your I.C and vaccination appointment letter, get to the appointment on time and follow the instructions that are provided by healthcare personnel.
There were also thoughtful individuals who suggested for people to wear loose and comfortable clothes to make the whole procedure easier.
Oh, and tip for my fellow muslimahs: Either pakai baju with loose sleeves, or do what I did and pakai cardigan over baju sleeveless. When it’s time to cucuk, just pull the cardigan down a bit. Done!— Hanna Alkaf (@yesitshanna) May 5, 2021
Some also shared how painless it was to receive their injections and only felt minor discomfort.

Otherwise, I am feeling alright. Have not consumed any analgesics like Paracetamol until now and just had my usual lunch/diet #CucukMYAZ
Netizens also revealed that once vaccinated, volunteers would receive a card indicating the date for their second vaccine appointment.
On Sunday, the government had opened online registrations allowing the public a chance to volunteer to receive AZ vaccines ahead of schedule. The aim of the program was to boost the country’s vaccination rate and improve public perception of the AZ vaccine
All 268,000 AZ vaccine slots in Klang Valley have been filled, however, the government is also looking to offer AZ vaccines for Malaysians living outside of Selangor and KL.
