Malaysians will again be having an SOP-filled Aidilfitri as the government announced new rules for the Hari Raya holiday season.

Here are the guidelines provided by the authorities;

Takbir Hari Raya

Only Muslims living in Movement Control Order (MCO), Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) and Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO) will be allowed to attend communal Hari Raya Aidilfitri ‘takbir’ sessions at mosques and suraus.

Worshipers however would need to abide by SOPs provided by their respective state religious authorities.

Takbir sessions are not allowed in Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO) areas.

Home-to-home takbir sessions will not be allowed in all areas, nationwide.

Hari Raya prayer

Communal Hari Raya prayers are only allowed at mosques and suraus in MCO, CMCO and RMCO areas depending on guidelines provided by state religious authorities.

Hari Raya visits & open house.

Open houses are strictly banned in all areas. However, Malaysians in MCO areas are only allowed to visit people during the first day of Hari Raya.

Guest attendance will be limited to a maximum of 15 people at a time. Physical distancing and other Covid-19 guidelines must also be maintained.

For those in CMCO (maximum guests 20 people) and RMCO (maximum guests 25 people) areas, visits can be performed between the first and third day of Hari Raya.

Those in EMCO areas are not allowed to have guests over.

Grave visits

Those in CMCO and RMCO areas will be allowed to visit graves on Hari Raya. This however will only be limited to only 6 people per-grave and only for 30 minutes.

No grave visits will be allowed for MCO and EMCO areas.
