Vaccine Shortage Forces Sibu To Postpone Immunisation Programme

It’s only the second day in phase two of the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme’s and reports have surfaced of certain areas having to postpone due to a lack of vaccines.

The district of Sibu has experienced shortages in supply of vaccines, although close to 1,000 senior citizens were vaccinated in the first day.

The Star quoted Sibu Division Health Officer Dr Teh Jo Hun who said that vaccinations could not be carried out as they have yet to receive supplies.

On the first day of the programme around 924 senior citizens aged 75 and were given the Pfizer-BioNTech Covid-19 vaccine along with 140 frontliners.

For now, it’s reported that the vaccination programme has been postponed until further notice and those who’ve registered for the shot will be notified via the MySejahtera app.
