Transport Minister Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong has announced that the Road Transport Department (JPJ) will be offering a 70% discount on compoundable summonses in celebration of their 75th anniversary.

The discount will kick in for two months, from 13 April to 13 June 2021.

No Pay, All Pain

Those with unsettled summonses will be blacklisted, rendering them unable to renew their driving licenses or road tax, which would effectively take them off the road.

This discount would allow these motorists an easy way to pay up their summonses and get taken off the JPJ blacklist.

For example, with the discount, a motorist will only have to pay RM45 to settle a RM150 summons.

There are around 3.5 million active summonses currently identified, beginning from 2010 to March this year. That’s a lot of summonses– and discounts!

Those who want to try checking for your active summonses during this discount period can do so on the MyEG website HERE.
