Malaysia’s Covid-19 Cases Drop Below 1,000 For The First Time Ever Since December 2020

Malaysia recorded 941 new Covid-19 cases today (29 March). It is the first time the national daily increase has dropped below 1,000 new cases in 2021.

In fact, the last time the numbers hit below 1,000 was on 9th December 2020 (959 cases)

Of the 941 new cases today, 8 were imported cases. According to the Health Ministry, every state saw a drop in new cases today. Selangor’s decrease was especially significant with only 219 new cases today.

The number of recoveries also exceeded the new cases with 1,097 patients discharged. However, 5 deaths were recorded today.

This brings the total number of active Covid-19 cases in the country to 14,219 and 1,260 lives lost to the coronavirus.
