Many of us have been taught to reduce, reuse and of course, recycle. But sometimes it can be quite the hassle to dispose of all the reusable materials that we’ve collected in our eco-friendly efforts.
Remember the good ol’ days when the “paper lama” recycling lorry would make its rounds in the neighborhood and collect your recyclable materials in exchange for a few ringgits?

Well as the millennial saying goes, “modern problems require modern solutions!” Now you can have the paper lama truck come straight to your door, on-demand, whenever you need to unload your trash and make some quick cash.
Trash4Cash (T4C) is a mobile application which allows you to call in the experts to collect and remove domestic and non-hazardous waste from your homes, commercial areas and other locations.
Users simply need to download and install the T4C app on their phones and have an adorably pink T4C truck come straight to your door to weigh, collect and pay you for your recyclable trash.
T4C users can also check the price of recyclable materials directly on the app and are recommended to separate their items accordingly such as cardboards, newspapers, papers, plastic containers glass bottles and other materials.
The service is available for Malaysians living in Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, Selangor, Perak, Penang, Perlis and Kedah, and users can receive their payments straight to their bank accounts.

Trash-demic?
Reportedly, Malaysian landfills witnessed a decrease of 10% to 30% in waste coming in per day since the Covid-19 pandemic and the implementation of the Movement Control Order (MCO) began.
However, the country has also been generating more and more household garbage such as food packaging and packaging from online purchases.
We have also been producing 15% to 20% more medical waste such as face masks and sanitiser bottles that end up polluting our environment.
Malaysians are advised to disposed of waste products responsibly and encouraged to recycle.
A 2019 study by the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) ranks our country as the number two users of plastic based products in Asia.
Data from 2015 also show that Malaysia’s recycling rate barely reached 17.5% – far from our National Strategic Plan for Solid Waste Management vision for a “Zero Waste” country by 2020.
