A few days after the videos surfaced online, the “Datuk” who slapped a waitress and a man on camera has been apprehended by the police, according to reports by The Star.
The “Datuk” was arrested, along with another man who had appeared in the video, by the police at Mutiara Damansara.
The incident broke out in Tropicana Avenue, a few hours before the Movement Control Order (MCO) came into effect, when the Datuk was recorded throwing a tantrum at a hotpot joint and slapping a couple of people.
In the video, he was shouting angrily to a man in a blue shirt before slapping him at the back of the head.
After he was held back, the Datuk proceeded to wreak further havoc near a table where the waitress was located before she was struck as well.
The police said the ruckus started after the supposedly drunk suspects were told off for talking too loudly in the restaurant.
It was reported that the waitress was also the man’s girlfriend.
PDRM said the Datuk had a police record dating back to 2019 for criminal intimidation.
