Malaysians are definitely feeling the blues from the enforcement of the Movement Control Order (MCO), and the declaration of a State of Emergency in order to facilitate the nation’s continuing fight against the Covid-19 pandemic.

As people pester over what’s expected to be a long MCO 2.0 period, one hard rocker managed to bring joy to netizens with his comedic renditions of classic Malaysian songs to describe what he and many others might be feeling this “Covid-season”.

Local entrepreneur Mohd Nur Azman Naim invites others to relieve their stress and sing along to his remix of the “Selamat Hari Raya” song popularized by the songstress Saloma.

At just over a minute long, Azman’s parody single entitled “Selamat PKP 2.0 2021”, wishes Malaysians “a very happy MCO” period and makes sarcastic remarks on the Malaysian quarantine and lockdown experience.

Happy MCO to my brothers and sisters, it happens many times a year, celebrating this (insert your preferred curse word here) day.

sang Azman in the tune of the Hari Raya song.

With his first MCO themed Aidilfitri track hitting it big with Malaysians online, Azman shares another comedic take on the famous “Cahaya Aidilfitri” song performed by 70s rock band Black Dog Bone.

This time, Azman sings of how Malaysians are struggling financially because of the MCO.

When MCO arrives, everyone has to take leave. But for me it’s just sadness, taking unpaid leave.

sang Azman in his remix.

You can also catch many more of Azman’s hilarious and inspiring Covid-themed song covers like this remix of Tan Sri P. Ramlee’s “Getaran Jiwa” made to reflect his fellow man’s “mental pressures” and frustrations, on his YouTube and other social media channels.

Talented people from across the country are lending their voices to make Malaysia’s MCO 2.0 experience a little more festive.

In one video, local singer-celebrity Chelsia Ng picks up her ukulele with an MCO remix of Camila Cabello’s “Havana”.

While another popular entertainment figure, Elizabeth Tan, made a parody remix of her own “Semuanya Sudah” music video to prepare for another lockdown.
