UNIQLO stores in Malaysia has always been attached to shopping malls, but now we finally get our first Japanese-style stand-alone roadside stores! Located in a large shop lot in Bandar Sri Damansara, the store boasts a large, stark storefront with huge signage- you can’t miss it!

The store stands at a whopping 15,100 square feet with a generous headroom. The space has been designed with accessibility in mind, so there are no steps or stairs, making it easier for families with strollers, the elderly, people with disabilities, or even children.

Even the UNIQLO products are displayed with accessibility in mind, hung conspicuously on models or on top of shelves, so you won’t need to go digging around to look for a particular colour or design.

AIRism For Everyone

Yet perhaps the most exciting thing about the roadside UNIQLO store at DA Square is that it is the only store in Malaysia to carry the full range of AIRism beddings.

Yup, these cult beddings are perfect for Malaysia’s humid weather and used to only be available online.

Now, they will be available in the full range of colours and sizes at the DA Square store.

In fact, this is THE MOST comprehensive store in the country, as they display a wide variety of items that were only used as models in other stores. You can even get accessories such as sunglasses, handbags, belts, and even boots!

Custom Designs

Additionally, they are the second store in Malaysia to have the UTme! corner, which would allow you to customize prints for a t-shirt or tote bag. The first one is the UNIQLO store in Fahrenheit 88, KL.

These designs include personalized ones which you can create on-the-spot or UNIQLO originals which you may prefer on a tote, for example.

Sustainability Corner

While some of you may already know that Uniqlo is pretty active in their charity efforts, such as donating used clothes to the homeless in KL, the company is dedicating an entire section of the new store to raise awareness of their sustainability efforts.

The Sustainability Corner showcases the company’s CSR programmes and green technology. As an advocate of making sustainable clothing, this corner shows how plastic bottles can be broken down into thread to make the DRY-EX Polo Shirt, worn by their athlete ambassadors such as Roger Federer.

Frankly, if you weren’t told that the polo shirt was made from plastic bottles, you might not believe plastic bottles could create something so amazingly soft. Additionally, the technology used to create the shirt ensures that microplastics won’t be released during washing- which is admittedly extremely impressive.

That’s just one part of their sustainability efforts, too. They work closely with local charities and invest heavily into their R&D for recycling clothing- but perhaps you can visit the Uniqlo store yourself for a better look.

Opening Soon

UNIQLO @ DA Square will be open to the public on 18th December, 10am. Don’t miss their three-day special, running from 18-20 Dec, which rewards the first 500 guests to the store each day with a special goodie bag, while customers making a purchase of RM200 or more in a single transaction will receive a Uniqlo U tote bag.
