Covid-19: Staggering 1,199 New Cases In Klang Valley Today, 696 Infections In KL Alone

Majority of cases in KL were from the Damanlela Construction Site Cluster.

Kuala Lumpur recorded the highest number of Covid-19 cases today with a whopping 696 cases.

Based on Health Director-General Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah’s Covid-19 press statement, out of the total cases reported in KL, 567 (81.5%) were from the Damanlela Construction Site Cluster which has spread to sixth-generation cases.

The Damanlela cluster was detected on 7 November in Kuala Lumpur, involving construction sites in the districts of Lembah Pantai, Kepong and Titiwangsa.

The index case tested positive from the detention screening on 6 November, and the cluster reported spikes in cases 10 days later on 16 November.

Meanwhile, Selangor charts the second-highest number of cases today with 503 cases, bringing the total number of cases reported in the Klang Valley today to 1,199.

The clusters that reported the highest increase in new cases today were the Damanlela Construction Site Cluster (568 cases), the Tembok Cluster (99 cases), the Rimbun Construction Site Cluster (27 cases).

Thankfully, no new clusters were reported today.

Malaysia recorded a total of 1,772 cases today, together with 1,084 recoveries and three more deaths.
