Covid-19 cases in Selangor are expected to increase as more testing will be conducted by the state, said Former Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad.
He said that although the numbers might look disheartening, the state shouldn’t give up yet in its fight against the coronavirus.
Beware! Numbers may rise further. Why? Because now we are doing more testing, especially mandatory (tests) on foreign workers.

He also suggested a few policies on Twitter to help combat the spread of the virus in Selangor:
- Screen at-risk community who are exposed to the ‘spill over’ from “high-positivity clusters” of work places
- Actively find sporadic cases.
- Isolate cases-in-community earlier & cut transmission faster
- Leverage on technology to expedite, streamline & monitor community testing efficiency
Cases in Selangor have fluctuated in the past few days based on the data from the Health Ministry with 277 cases reported on 9 December, before jumping to 1,428 on 10 December and dipping slightly at 829 cases on 11 December.
Meanwhile, SELANGKAH has announced the release of a digital solution for Covid-19 contact tracing and rapid screening via its community screening portal to ensure that individuals who were traced before can now be screened and tested rapidly.
By utilising the new digital solution, the team managed to screen 44.2% of the targeted population in Meru, Klang within five hours, exceeding the initial target of only 10%, with results being made available within 24 hours.
