Covid-19: Klang Valley Records 198 New Cases, Two New Clusters In Petaling & Titiwangsa

Most of the cases come from Selangor while Putrajaya is officially an orange zone.

Klang Valley records 198 new Covid-19 cases today – 19.6% of the 1,009 new cases nationwide.

Health Director-General Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah also revealed that two new clusters were detected today in Petaling, Selangor and Titiwangsa, Kuala Lumpur respectively.

Covid-19 in Selangor today

Selangor records 180 new cases today, largely from existing clusters (82 cases) but one case from the newly detected Tamar Cluster.

The Tamar Cluster is located in Petaling district with a total of 10 infections involving foreign nationals.

The index case (Case 32, 410) is a 32-year-old foreign national who tested positive for Covid-19 on November 1st after developing symptoms.

Close contact screening revealed further positive cases amongst his co-workers.

Covid-19 in Kuala Lumpur today

Kuala Lumpur reports 14 new Covid-19 cases today, of which four infections are from the new Danau Cluster in Titiwangsa.

The index case of this new cluster (Case 28,286) tested positive for Covid-19 on 28 October.

Screening of the 55-year-old man’s close contacts revealed 7 infections, including family members and social contacts.

Danau Cluster currently comprises 8 cases and has expanded to the third generation of infections.

Putrajaya is officially an orange zone

Although Putrajaya records only one new case today, it has officially been designated as an orange zone by the Health Ministry.

This classification is marked for areas where there are 21 to 40 Covid-19 cases detected.

Dr Noor Hisham had earlier stated the orange zone categorisation is an alert for authorities to take action, instead of waiting for the area to be considered as a red zone.
