Covid-19: Selangor Records 150 New Cases & 2 New Clusters Today

Selangor records 150 new Covid-19 cases and two new clusters today, revealed Health Director-General Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.
Of the 150 new cases, a whopping 76 new infections emerged from two new clusters – Merpati Cluster and Astaka Cluster.
Astaka Cluster – Petaling, Hulu Langat & Kuala Selangor
The index case (Case 29,262) from Petaling, Selangor was identified positive for Covid-19 on 29 October after developing symptoms.
Following the results, 114 close contacts were screened and 32 positive cases were identified.
The Health DG explains that all those who tested positive are currently undergoing treatment at Hospital Sungai Buloh.
The cluster currently involves infections in Hulu Langat and Kuala Selangor as well.
Merpati Cluster – Sepang, Kuala Langat & Gombak
This cluster was identified from a workplace in Sepang.
Dr Noor Hisham explained that 116 individuals have been screened, with 45 people testing positive for Covid-19.
The cluster also includes infections in Kuala Langat, Selangor and Gombak, Kuala Lumpur.
Meanwhile, 40 new Covid-19 cases in Selangor today are from previously identified clusters, 22 from close contact tracing and 12 from other Covid-19 screenings.
