Agong: Stop Politicking, Please Focus On Passing Budget 2021

His Majesty wants all MPs to focus on the welfare of the nation and its people.

Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah has requested the Members of Parliament to support the upcoming Budget 2021 to be tabled by Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.

In a statement released by the palace, the Agong urged for Dewan Rakyat to support it for the sake of the people’s welfare as well as the nation’s economy that’s been severely impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Al-Sultan Abdullah stressed that Budget 2021, which will be tabled in Parliament soon, is crucial to the government, authorities, especially the frontliners, to soldier on and implement policies, as well as efforts to contain and address the threat of this virus from spreading.

The Agong also requested that all politicking between the MPs be stopped and to focus instead on the welfare of the people and the wellness of the nation, so that Budget 2021 can be passed without any interruption.

His Majesty reminds the MPs that political disputes for their personal interests will be detrimental to the country and all citizens will be the victims, especially when the country is still struggling with the threat of this Covid-19 pandemic.
