Anwar said that statutory declarations and “verified” documents from political party leaders were submitted to the King and now it was up to His Majesty to examine them, consult with party leaders, and proceed based on the country’s Constitution.

Following his audience with the Yang di-Pertuan Agong (YDPA) Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah, Anwar expressed confidence that Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin’s government had fallen and suggested for the latter to resign.

Anwar said that the list of support he currently has would be revealed to the public soon, that the Agong must be given time, and that they were not pressuring him to act.

In the meantime, the Anwar asked for calm and for everyone to remain focused on the country’s plight to overcome the Covid-19 pandemic.

Additionally, Anwar stressed that under his government, the needs of every Malaysian citizen would be considered and taken care of.
