Covid-19: 287 New Cases Today, Malaysia’s Highest EVER

Malaysia records 287 new Covid-19 cases today, the nation’s highest numbers EVER.

Health Director General Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah announced that Kedah records the highest newest cases at 129, followed by Sabah at 113 and then Selangor at 31.

Two new clusters have also appeared in Selangor, Seri Anggerik Cluster in Hulu Selangor and Seri Setia Cluster in Gombak and Kuala Lumpur.

He urged the public to adhere to the Health Ministry’s SOPs, such as maintaining hygiene, wearing a face mask and practicing physical distancing.

The previous record for biggest spike was in 4 June when 277 new infections were detected primarily among foreigners from the Bukit Jalil Immigration Detention Depot.

Yesterday, the Health Director-General admitted that Malaysia could possibly be facing a new wave of infections with 206 new cases with every state recording new cases for the first time in months as well.

Malaysia currently has 1,540 active Covid-19 cases. The national tally now stands at 11,771 cases with a total of 136 deaths.
